Speaker 1: Today in our 2016 Honda Pilot we're gonna be test fitting the Yakima fold back two bike rack part number Y02634. We already have a bike installed on the rack so let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. This is one of the more higher end hatch mount and bike racks that you're gonna see out there, starting at the ends here we're gonna have the patented Yakima bottle opener on one, and this comes with a lot of the Yakima bike racks. And on the other end we're gonna have the integrated cable lock.You would actually take it out, wrap it around the outer frame of the outer bike and attach it to this point here and lock it in place to secure your bikes in place once everything's done. Moving to the cradles, these are gonna be stationary meaning they don't move back and forth or side to side, however they do have this TPE padding at the base here and that's gonna act as kind of a shock absorber for your frame while you're traveling and help protect it. It's also gonna be padded along the bottom side of our zip strips here as well where it makes contact with your bike frame.It's gonna hold your bike at three points, we'll have two zip strips up at the top two here, one off to the side which is gonna serve as an anti-sway cradle to keep the bike from moving too far back and forth and causing bike to bike contact. more

I'm first going to show you how we secure it into place.So we have three cradles with three straps, two on our frame here and one is our anti-sway strap in the back. We're going to pull down and lift up to release those. We can pull our bike off and set it off to the side and the strap on our front tire is going to be included with, just a stabilization track to prevent our bike from swinging back and forth and possible making contact with the rack or other bikes. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 GMC Acadia, we're going to be test fitting the Yakima HangOut 2 Bike Rack for Trunk Mounts, part number Y02637.We already have a bike installed on the rack, let's go ahead and take a closer look here. Starting with the arms, the cradles are moveable, back and forth and side to side as needed, to help out with the installation. It does have an anti-sway cradle that folds out, like so, but also folds inward. It's going to make loading the bikes much easier.How it holds the bikes in place, it's going to have the two rubber straps up at the top here, as well as one off to the side, and that's going to serve as an anti-sway cradle to keep the bike from moving too far back and forth and causing bike to bike contact, or bike to vehicle contact.It does come with the wheel strap, as you see up front here, to ensure that the front tire here, or wheel, doesn't make contact with the actual vehicle itself. And once both bikes are installed, there's a much longer strap that goes around both bikes frames, as well as the bike rack itself, and that's going to help keep everything nice and compressed while you're traveling, to keep it from shifting back and forth as well.Let's go ahead and take the bike off. Start by removing the straps here, and you can see how that unloading is much easier.With it in this position, I'd like to give you a couple quick measurements here. more

Today on our 2014 Nissan Maxima we're doing a test fit of the Tulle Raceway Pro Trunk-Mounted 2 Bike Rack, part number TH9001PRO. As you can see we do already have our bike on the rack, so we're just going to show you how we strap everything down to start. We've got two cradles holding in our bike and three straps, two on the frame here and one as your anti-sway strap. To release those we're just going to pull down and lift up, saving that anti-sway strap for last. It's going to keep the bike from swinging back and forth and possibly damaging either your rack, bike, or your vehicle. Take that off and set it off to the side. A good habit to get into is to always replace your straps. Now that we've got those back in place we can take a few measurements. more

Malone Pilot 2 Bike Platform Rack Review- Video
Speaker 1: Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Trunk Mount, Malone Pilot 2-Bike Platform Rack, part number MPG2133. The Malone Pilot Platform Trunk Mount Rack is great for pairing up to two bikes of varying types and sizes. It can carry mountain bikes to road bikes, to alternate frame bikes, as well as kids bikes, although some may require the use of a bike adapter bar, which is sold separately and can be found on etrailer.com.Since this is a platform style bike rack, you're gonna have less bike to bike contact to worry about. Another assurance to make sure that doesn't happen is, we do have cradles that are adjustable, so you can shift the bikes to the right or to the left to make sure there's no contact as well. As opposed to most trunk mount bike racks, which are hanging style, these grip your bike by the frame up at the top. And then we have two wheel straps at the base to hold your tires in place.Once you have your bikes installed, there is a locking in cap here that, once turned, it'll just free spin and not loosen up or tighten. more

Speaker 1: Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Malone Trunk Mount Hanger 3 Bike Rack, part number MPG2139.The Malone Hanger 3 Trunk Mount Bike Rack is a fast and easy solution to carry your bikes from one place to another. It can carry a wide variety of bikes ranging from your mountain bikes to your alternate frame bikes to your kids bikes and to road bikes as well.In some cases, when loading your bikes, especially those with alternate frames or kids bikes, you may need to use an adapter bar to have it fit properly on the bike rack. Malone does carry these, and you can find them on etrailer.com's website.It holds your bike in three locations. We're gonna have two straps up at the top tube. Our third point's gonna be the strap around the side here, and that's gonna be referred to as our anti-sway cage, which is gonna keep your bike from moving too far back and forth and causing bike to bike contact.The cradles are padded and have these grooves in them so that the cables on your bike will fit inside those instead of getting crushed up against your frame once it's been initially installed. Speaker 1: Today on our 2011 Ford Fusion, we're gonna be test fitting the Yakama FullBack Two Bike Rack for trunk mounts, part number Y02634. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's take a closer look and show off some features here. Starting at the ends of the arms here, on the one end, we will have the bottle opener which is pretty standard for most Yakama bike racks. On the other end here, we'll have an integrated cable lock which you pull out, wrap around the front most bike, and then attach it to this point here, and lock it into place. Therefore, both of your bikes are gonna be secured to the rack once they're installed.The cradles are stationary but they do have this super cush material, the frame of your bike is gonna be resting on so to ensure that there's not gonna be any scratch to your frame once it's being installed. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2011 Ford Fusion, we're going to be test fitting the Yakima HalfBack 2 Bike Rack for Trunk Mounts, part number Y02636. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go ahead and show off some of the features here.Starting at the ends of the arms, we're going to have the patented Yakima bottle openers on either end. The cradles themselves are stationary, but they do have this SuperCush material to help protect your bike's frame once it's being installed, and make sure that it doesn't get any scratches on it once you're installing it and transporting it.These do also have anti-sway cradles back here, which you can push up out of the way while loading and unloading, which is going to make it 10 times easier as opposed to having to shuffle the bike back and forth to get it into place. It does grip your bike by three points. We'll have two ZipStrips up at the top of the frame, and then one off to the side, which again is that anti-sway cradle to help keep the bike from moving too far back and forth and causing bike-to-bike contact.Let's go ahead and take the bike off. more

We'll have two straps up at the top and one off to the side which will serve as an anti-sway cradle to keep the bike from moving too far back and forth and making bike to bike contact.The cradles themselves, or the straps, are stationary; they do not move. The anti-sway cradles do move a little bit just to give you a little bit of space with your particular bike you may have. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Ford Taurus, we're going to be test fitting the Hollywood Racks Over-the-Top 2 Bike Rack for Vehicles with Spoilers, part number HRF2. While this is designed for vehicles with spoilers, this can fit regular vehicles like you see here. It can carry up to two bikes. At the ends of our arms we do have reflectors for better visibility at night. The cradles are adjustable, back and forth and side to side. And with our anti-sway cradle up at the front here we did move it to the inside like you see here, and that's to make loading and unloading a little bit easier.It does also come with a stabilization strap. more

We'll have two straps up at the top, then one off to the side, and this is going to be an anti-sway cradle, to keep the bike from moving too far back and forth, and causing bike to bike contact.Up towards the front here, we do have a stabilization strap, which can be used when both bikes are installed, you wrap it around the frames and tighten it up for stability while you drive. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Ford Taurus, we're going to be test-fitting the Hollywood Racks Express 3 Bike Rack for trunk mounts. Part number HRE3. We have our bike already installed on our rack. Let's take a closer look and show off some of the features.We did an experience some issue with the tire making contact with the vehicle so what we did is we used the provided stabilization strap, tied it around our actual wheel here to keep it from making contact. Now once you have all three bike racks .. excuse me, once you have all three bikes attached, you can use the strap to go around all three as well.The cradles are moveable back and forth and left to right. more

However, at the other end, we do have an integrated cable lock that can pop out, wrap around your front bike, and attach to this point and lock them into place to secure them to the bike rack. We do have the wheel strap that does come along with it, to help prevent vehicle-to-tire contact. more

Let's take a closer look and show off some of the features.Like with many Yakima products, at the ends of our arms here we do have bottle openers, so you can crack open a cold one once you're done hitting the trails.The cradles are stationary, but do have the Super Cush material to help protect the frame of your bike, once you have it installed.It will grip your bike by three points. We'll have two zip strips up at the top. Then we'll have one off to the side here, which serves as an anti-sway cradle, to keep your bike from moving too far back and forth, and causing bike-to-bike contact.We also have this wheel strap at the front here. This does come with the bike rack, to help prevent contact with your tire here and the vehicle. Now, if you we're to have both bikes attached, there is a much longer strap that wraps around both, as well as the bike rack itself, to keep everything stable while you're driving.Excuse me.Let's go ahead and take the bike off and set it aside. more

Speaker 1: Here it is on our test course. We'll start by going through the slalom. This is gonna show us the side to side action which simulates turning corners or evasive maneuvers. Next, we're at the alternating speed bumps which we'll see the twisting action. This will simulate hitting a curb or pothole or driving over uneven pavement. Finally, we have the full speed bumps where we'll see the up and down action, which is just like driving out of a parking lot, garage, or driveway.. more
